Just curious if there is an endpoint in sight, or a target date for HMBA. I've got money sitting aside waiting for it. :)

Too early yet. I've been working the past two weeks on the "Omni" feature, that is, saving multiple configurations in a single file, and it has a while to go yet. So, I really don't have a guesstimate, but certainly a couple months or so at least.

That should not be a problem.

Some days I wonder. I have plenty, but they have not been that prolific, as far as comments and suggestions go. :-(

Yes well, I feel I've commented on everything that concerns me. The Record Sheets are not my forte, as i have minimal use for them.

Now if i come across an error in the actual program, I'll be sure to let you know.

Doc has been a great contributor, as have several others. But at least half the playtesters are making no responses at all. :-(

Rick: Well, you've seen enough of me around here, to know I'm not afraid to point out when things are screwed up. And I actually have beta experience, if that helps. Sign me up, and I'll do my best for ya.

For what it's worth, I've got all the applicable books, some beta experience, I'm a pro at trying to break things, decent report writing skills, and a little more free time than is healthy for me. :D

I'm in the same boat as Discord, and have so many wonderful ideas waiting to be experimented with that I may end up breaking things through volume.

I don't know. Approval was/is not as straightforward as I expected.

The wait is killing me! Good thing I stopped holding my breath though! Are we just doomed to wait on the whims of TPB until someone sees fit to let this ready product be released? I was expecting to play with it for Christmas. . .

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but why do you need their approval? You have a licence to produce programs so what is it they have to approve?

This is no different than the process through which FanPro LCC and IWM (and any BattleTech universe licence holder) have to go.

Anything that is printed (or sculpted for casting) that either compnay produce for release under their licences has to be approved by WizKids. They either come back and say OK, No, or change this...

Do you think it'll be approved by late summer? I've been toying with running a Mechwarrior game in a con in August that would include custom BA. It'd be handy to have a program to do the grunt work.

Maybe they (WizKids' TPTB) are afraid MWDA players will find out about it and start demanding that THEIR custom BA be made into MWDA figures. Or maybe the guy who is supposed to approve this stuff was laid off, and Rick's requests for approval have been lost in the paperwork shuffle. Or, maybe Topps just doesn't see approval of this as a priority, since MWDA is only making a small pittance off of it, as opposed to their latest MWDA expansion...

I think it's just that the people making the decision really don't care one way or the other, and are not going to go out of their way to do anything about it. I've written about as often as I can, but still trying not to become a royal pain, which may well result in an outright NO.

Would a letter writing and E-Mail campaign by your loyal supporters help or hinder?

Please don't. That's the reason I didn't even mention the reason for the delay for a while. I think that bombarding WizKids with emails would antagonize them, and result in a negative decision. Thanks for /not/ contacting them.

Now, if anyone out there actually has some reall /influence/ with them, I'd love to hear from you. ;-)

Yes... this is a very fine (and grey) line to tread. Being a Knowledgebase Analyst. I've had to do this myself.

Persistent enough so they actually work on your answer, but not so persistent you actlually irritate them.
